Dohee Jang, CEO of Seoul Labs
- Leading Seoul Labs with the vision of making blockchain technology invisible and effortless for everyday use.
- Driving the development of the company's proprietary Layer 1 blockchain, built on proven technological excellence and global scalability.
Seoul Labs is a blockchain fintech company that develops its own Layer 1 blockchain mainnet, an AI-powered all-in-one DID (Decentralized Identity) SuperWallet, and a platform for issuing and distributing fiat-referenced digital assets (tokens).
The company's mainnet has been officially tested by KTR, a KOLAS-accredited testing institution, demonstrating performance of up to 5,205 TPS, a 1-second block time, and 0.651-second latency. These results compare favorably with leading blockchain networks such as Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin.
Seoul Labs' core strengths lie in its proven technology and global scalability. The company has received Venture Business Certification (Innovative Growth Type) from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, earned the KISA Blockchain Industry Contribution Award, and successfully passed KOLAS-accredited software performance testing, providing objective validation of both its technological capabilities and commercial potential. It has also been selected as a KOICA ODA partner organization, participating in public-sector digital transformation projects across Southeast Asia.
Seoul Labs primarily targets B2B and B2G markets, serving financial institutions, local governments, and developing-country governments. In Laos, the company signed a 15-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the government to lead the blockchain transformation of e-government systems. It was also selected as a partner organization under the KOICA CTS (Creative Technology Solution) Program.
Looking ahead, Seoul Labs aims to expand its social impact across developing countries, beginning with Laos, while accelerating global business development through participation in major international fintech events such as Money20/20 and CES 2026.
The company successfully raised KRW 1.72 billion (approximately USD 1.2 million) in seed funding during the first half of 2025 and is preparing for its next investment round to accelerate technology development, marketing, and global expansion. Key strategic priorities include stablecoin infrastructure, Southeast Asian market expansion, R&D, and global talent acquisition.
According to CEO Dohee Jang, "Seoul Labs was founded by a team of blockchain professionals who shared a common vision. From the beginning, our philosophy has been to build technology that we can truly stand behind and take responsibility for."
He added, "Beyond business growth, the most rewarding achievement is seeing our technology adopted by governments and public institutions to solve real-world problems. Through our KOICA ODA projects, we are helping improve digital accessibility in Laos, demonstrating that Seoul Labs' social mission is becoming a reality."
The company's engineering team consists of experienced blockchain professionals, including senior developers with 6 to nearly 10 years of industry experience, alongside young Web3 specialists passionate about building the future of decentralized technologies.
Looking ahead, CEO Jang stated, "Seoul Labs is focused on bringing Korean Layer 1 blockchain technology into the real economy. Beyond identity verification and record management, we are building infrastructure optimized for real-time transactions and micro-payments that people can use in everyday life."
He continued:
"Our KOLAS-certified performance test officially verified throughput of 5,205 TPS, giving us the technological foundation to deliver fast, real-world payment experiences. Seoul Labs is building blockchain-based digital infrastructure across Southeast Asia to expand global financial inclusion. Through our 15-year partnership with the Government of Laos and our participation in KOICA's CTS program, we are deploying localized blockchain solutions including DID, electronic documents, and payment systems, with future expansion planned for countries such as the Philippines and Vietnam."
At the same time, Seoul Labs is preparing to lead the next generation of the stablecoin economy. While today's stablecoins are primarily used within Web3 ecosystems, widespread real-world adoption will require blockchain infrastructure capable of handling massive transaction volumes. Learning from Ethereum's scalability challenges during the DeFi boom, Seoul Labs is building a high-performance Layer 1 network capable of supporting the issuance and circulation of fiat-referenced digital assets at scale.
Finally, Seoul Labs is combining AI and blockchain to strengthen data trust and security in the digital era. As AI systems depend on high-quality, trustworthy data, blockchain plays a crucial role in preventing data tampering and ensuring transparency. By addressing the "Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO)" problem, Seoul Labs aims to deliver a trusted digital infrastructure through its AI-powered SuperWallet, integrating DID authentication, digital payments, and digital asset management into a single platform.
Seoul Labs was also selected for the 2025 Early Startup Package Program organized by the Busan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, receiving funding, workspace, mentoring, and business development support to accelerate its growth.
